[At one point Kunikida assumes that Ranpo just fell asleep, but eventually another message comes, and for once Kunikida is glad that he didn’t make it to bed on time tonight.
It seems like the alcohol is allowing Ranpo to be a bit more open than usual (gee what was his first clue??), which is both a blessing and a curse. Kunikida feels better knowing what’s bothering him, but also feels worse at the same time since he can’t do much to fix it right now.]
I’m sorry, Ranpo-san. I should’ve tried harder to find you. I don’t ever want you to feel lonely, especially on your birthday. None of us do.
